Maternity Payment:

The Australian Government have created the Maternity Payment. This payment replaces the Maternity Allowance and Baby Bonus and came into effect in July 2004. This was a one off payment of $3079 per child and has increased every year since. It currently stands at $4000 and is set to increase to $5000 in July 2008.
